This program demonstrates how to draw and fill polygons. The drawPolygon( ) method draws a closed polygon defined by arrays of x and y coordinates. Each pair of (x, y) coordinates defines a point. The drawPolygon method's third parameter, nPoints, is the number of points in the polygon and should equal the number of pairs in the xPoints and yPoints arrays. The Polygon class encapsulates a description of a closed, two-dimensional region within a coordinate space. This region is bounded by an arbitrary number of line segments, each of which is one side of the polygon. 20.2 Einfache Zeichenmethoden .

Honestly, I'd use the 2D Graphics shapes API, they allow you to "draw" a shape, which is simpler (IMHO) then using polygon. The advantage is, they are easy to paint and transform.
